Description
This training provides an overview of diabetes medications and emerging technologies used in the management of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Participants will review how the pancreas functions, understand the differences between diabetes types, and learn about common diabetes medications, including insulin therapies, oral agents, and injectable treatments. The session also explores current diabetes technologies such as glucometers, continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), insulin pumps, and patch systems, as well as future innovations including artificial pancreas systems and AI-powered diabetes management. Additionally, the presentation highlights the impact of social drivers of health on access to medications and technology. Through interactive activities and discussions, participants will gain practical knowledge to support diabetes education, medication adherence, and technology use to improve health outcomes.
